Data Deletion Request

You have the right to request deletion of your RandomCamChat account and the personal data associated with it. This page explains what is removed, what is retained for legal compliance, and how to submit a request.

To request account and data deletion, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account. We process deletion requests within 30 days.

1. Overview

RandomCamChat respects your right to control your personal data. Under privacy regulations including GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. This right is subject to certain legal retention requirements described below.

A data deletion request covers your account profile and the personal data we hold about you. It does not affect anonymized aggregate data (such as session counts in platform-wide analytics that cannot be traced back to your account).

2. How to Submit a Deletion Request

Option A — Self-service (Fastest)

If you have access to your account, the quickest way to delete your data is through account settings:

  • Log in to RandomCamChat
  • Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
  • Follow the confirmation prompts

Self-service deletion initiates the same deletion process as an email request and is processed within the same 30-day window.

Option B — Email Request

To request deletion by email:

  • Send an email to [email protected]
  • Use the subject line: Data Deletion Request
  • Include the email address registered to your RandomCamChat account
  • Optionally include your display name or account ID to help us locate your account faster

We will send a confirmation email once we have received your request. You do not need to provide a reason for the deletion request.

Option C — App Store Requests (Mobile Users)

If you downloaded RandomCamChat via an app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), you can also submit a data deletion request through the platform's built-in account management flow as described in Option A.

3. What Is Removed

When your deletion request is processed, we remove the following data:

  • Account profile: Email address, display name, password hash, and account creation metadata.
  • Interest tags: All interest tags and matching preferences linked to your account.
  • Session history: Any session logs associated with your user ID (subject to the retention exceptions in Section 4).
  • Preferences: Language settings, display preferences, and other stored user preferences.
  • Coins balance: Any unused Coins balance remaining in your account at the time of deletion. Note: Coins are non-refundable per our Terms of Service unless required by applicable law.

After deletion your account cannot be recovered. If you later wish to use RandomCamChat, you would need to create a new account.

4. What Is Retained for Legal Compliance

Certain data must be retained after account deletion to comply with legal obligations. Retained data is not used to operate your account or for any commercial purpose — it is held solely for compliance and legal defense:

  • Transaction records: Purchase records for Coins and VIP subscriptions are retained for the period required by applicable tax and financial regulations (typically 5–7 years depending on jurisdiction). These records are minimized to include only the data legally required (transaction amount, date, and a pseudonymized account reference).
  • Report data: If your account was the subject of a safety report or moderation action, we may retain limited data related to that case for up to 12 months after account deletion to enable appeal processing and legal defense.
  • Legal hold: If your account data is subject to a legal hold, court order, or active investigation at the time of your deletion request, we are required to preserve the relevant data for the duration of the hold. We will process your deletion request promptly once the hold is lifted.

Retained data is stored securely and is not accessible to general platform operations.

5. Timeline

  • Confirmation: We will acknowledge your request by email within 3 business days.
  • Processing: Account and data deletion is completed within 30 days of receipt of your request.
  • Backup systems: Data may persist in encrypted backup systems for up to an additional 90 days. These backups are not accessible to platform operations and are rotated out on a fixed schedule.
  • Completion notice: We will send a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
